12/27/2024 - Baseball Factory East Coast Winter Classic (MS) Chase continues to impress on the diamond, displaying smooth defensive skills behind the plate and a solid approach at bat. His soft, sure mitt exhibits strong pocket awareness by sticking pitches, while he uses his body effectively during blocking, centering balls out front. His pop times, currently around 2.90 seconds, are expected to improve as he develops more arm strength through a long toss program. Offensively, Chase utilizes a squared setup and aggressive swing path, showcasing quick hands and a line-drive approach that allows him to stay inside the ball and use all fields, complemented by an aggressive hip turn in his lower half. His strong mental makeup, coachability, and work ethic position him well for continued growth.

08/08/2024 - All-Ripken Games - Cleveland, OH Chase had a standout performance at the All-Ripken event! His ability to get multiple hits, including a crucial 2-RBI double, and his discipline at the plate with several walks show he's got a good understanding of hitting and the strike zone. As he develops, focusing on his swing mechanics will be key. Working on his load and stride off a tee is a great way to reinforce those fundamentals. Keeping his barrel through the hitting zone will help him make more consistent contact and improve his overall performance at the plate. With continued practice and refinement, he has the potential to become a very strong hitter.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
