12/14/2014 - College PREP - Monterey Park (Los Angeles), CA Chase is an athletic MIF that is about to enter into spring of his senior year. Defensively, he worked with his hands in front which allowed his glove to play very soft. He was quick with his arm action to throw and showed plus range. Adding arm strength and consistency with his DP turns will increase level of play. Offensively, he tracked the ball to contact, generated good rhythm to hit, and stayed balanced throughout the swing. He had a middle-oppo approach and drove the ball on a line. More consistent timing and greater head control will improve barrel accuracy and hard contact. In all - Gandy is in good shape to perform at a high level in his senior season.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
