04/05/2024 - All-Ripken Games - Myrtle Beach, SC Chase is a talented young prospect who showed well for the Eagles squad at the PreSeason All-Ripken Games where he was on base constantly - 6 out of 8 times! His left-handed stroke generated good bat speed and he competed well in the box. We like the way he battles and his aggressive approach when he sees a pitch he likes. His strike zone judgement is good and his swing path is sound and will allow him to continue to have success against quality pitching. Defensively he made a great play on a tough hop and has soft, sure hands in the infield. He plays through balls well and can continue to quicken his feet to help his range and strengthen his arm to help him finish double play turns. We like the way Chase goes about his business on the field and think he has an extremely bright future as he continues to mature.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
