08/04/2022 - Baseball Factory Summer World Series at the NY Mets Spring Training Complex Chase is a class of 2023 shortstop prospect. In the field, he showed a good ability to create angles. Showed good range to both sides of his body. Flashed additional athleticism with his ability to change arm angles and make off balanced throws. At the plate, this right handed hitter starts in an athletic stance. Does a good job getting his barrel on plane. Stayed balanced throughout the entirety of his swing. In live game action, he was able to reach base twice with a walk and a single. Chase is a good prospect that we expect to have opportunities to play at the next level.

06/20/2022 - All-In Membership - Beverly Hills (Detroit), MI Chase is a solid, athletic SS who will graduate in 2023. Defensively, Chase has good pre-pitch actions, he moves well to the ball, and he keeps it in front of his body. He plays with good energy, his exchange is clean, and Chase throws with a short arm action with direction across the diamond. Quicker feet, a wider fielding base, and playing more through the ball will help improve defensive skills. Offensively, Chase has an open stance, good balance, and a direct swing path. He has a level/consistent swing, he can work the ball gap to gap, and he uses his lower body well. Hitting can spike with work on rhythm/timing, and with a more direct swing path.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
