10/04/2020 - Official Player Development Membership - San Bernardino, CA Chase is a young, L/R 2-way player (SS/RHP) who graduates in 2027. With the bat, this lefty displays a tall/balanced setup with rhythm to load. He takes an aggressive hack through a level path, connects and looks to drive the middle of the field. More power will come as he works to engage his full lower 1/2. At SS, he has active prep and is aggressive to come and get the GB. He presents his glove out in front, gathers well and has a clean transfer to throw. Continuing to develop his footwork/agility will help to increase lateral range. On the mound, this RHP throws a FB & CH from a high 3/4 arm slot. He works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and stays directional toward the dish. FB ranges from 50-52 mph while CH sits 44-48 mph. He keeps his eyes on the target and repeats well. More arm strength (long toss) and more lower 1/2 drive off of the rubber will help to increase FB velocity. Only a 2027 grad - Chase has tools with still a ton of time to progress and physically mature (get stronger).

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
