06/18/2010 - USA Baseball 16U Championships (FL) - 2010 Chase is a young two-way player in the OF plus on the mound with a plus athletic body that is well suited for both positions. Actions are quick and athletic with plus foot speed. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls as he works to get behind, playing through with momentum to his target. Hands are quick, generating bat speed as he shows a plus feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off his bat when centered. He has strength in his swing with power to all fields and once on base he creates havoc with his foot speed. At the event he was 6 for 18 with a 2B and 3B. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 82-86 mph through a loose, quick arm action. Breaking ball displays a 10/4 shape with tight spin and a short break, flashing potential to be a quality pitch with a more consistent release point. Changeup is a plus pitch, showing a solid feel for with arm side run. He has a reliever's mentality as he loves to compete.
