06/29/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Salem (Roanoke), VA Chase showed a spike in raw velocity (82 MPH), exit velocity (79 MPH), and he ran his best 60 (7.53 seconds) during his last workout with The Factory. At SS, Chase has good actions, quick feet, and he takes good angles to field. He keeps the ball in front of his body, his exchange is clean, and he throws with accuracy and momentum across the diamond. At the plate, Chase has a tall/square set-up, he loads well, and stands in with solid balance. He has a short/direct swing path, he works the ball gap to gap, and he uses his lower 1/2.

12/27/2020 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Chase is an energetic SS/RHP that will graduate in 2023. At SS, Chase shows athletic and active footwork as he ranges to the ball. After he fields, he exchanges the ball well delivering the ball from the 3/4 slot but shows the ability to throw from multiple slots as well. He can improve his fielding by working through the ball and making cleaner exchanges. Hitting, Chase shows an open stance with comfortable hands. His stride is small and has a square landing with a soft foot. He gets the bat on plane as he fires his hips through showing fast bat speed. His contact is hard and consistent showing a line drive approach and plus power to the pull side. On the mound, Chase shows a 3-pitch mix with a FB/CB/CH. The FB is 76-79 with good run, the CB is 70-72 with 9-3 shape, and the CH is 71-73 with sink. His presence on the mound is confident with quick and relaxed movements. He separates his hands on time and shows a quick arm action as he delivers his pitches. As a 2023, Chase shows potential to be a player at multiple positions as he matures and grows.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
