11/10/2024 - National Showcase - Marlborough (Boston), MA Chase is a versatile outfielder and right-handed pitcher from Pittsfield, MA, who is part of the 2025 graduating class. As an outfielder, he showcases quick feet and aggressive angles, displaying strong body control and a clean exchange off his left foot. His ability to create momentum allows him to generate strong throws with excellent carry, with his arm velocity reaching up to 86 mph. At the plate, Chase starts in an upright stance and uses a smooth hand separation to generate fast bat speed. He consistently drives line drives into both gaps during batting practice, demonstrating excellent barrel control and an approach with intent. On the mound, Chase stands out with his loose, quick arm action and solid mechanics. He separates his hands on time, maintaining a controlled landing and square alignment to his target. His fastball shows plus command, and he rounds out his arsenal with a curveball and changeup, making him a well-rounded pitcher. With another season of growth and development, Chase is poised to continue refining his skills and making strides both at the plate and on the mound.

12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Chase is a 2025 OF who showcased his skills during the BF Christmas Camp and Tournament in Pirate City. In the OF he starts in an athletic position and on the balls of his feet. He works thru the ball and fields from an athletic fielding position. Has a clean transfer and synched up on his throws. He made accurate throws from a 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 83mph. At the plate he hits from an athletic and square stance with comfortable hands. Has a compact swing and shows good bat to ball skills. In live game action, he made consistent contact and reached base 3 times with a single, a walk, and reached on an error. Chase has a high baseball IQ with ability to play multiple positions. With continued development we foresee Chase having a bright future on the baseball field.

09/17/2023 - National Showcase - Troy (Albany), NY Chase continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.21 runner. In the OF, defensive abilities are now well above average as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He needs to work to get behind balls and play through with momentum to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. At 2B, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he works around ball and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Throws are accurate with carry (83 mph exit velocity) to his target. At the plate, he shows an athletic, crouched setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.

03/26/2023 - National Showcase - Marlborough (Boston), MA Chase is a 2025 RHH 2B/OF prospect from Pittsfield, MA. At second, he shows off active feet and agile range to all angles, especially the glove side. He gets in an athletic fielding position and presents his hands out in front. He has very athletic movements and aggressively attacks the baseball. He makes consistent, accurate throws and shows off a quick release with a clean exchange. Made some impressive double play feeds. In the OF, his footwork really shines. He shows off athletic actions and takes good angles on fly balls. He does a good job of gaining ground with his throws to his cutoffs/targets and shows off a quick exchange. His hands present out in front and he does a good job of catching fly balls out in front. At the plate, he displays a ton of intent. He starts with an athletic stance and gets good movements from his lower half. He works hard to stay direct to the baseball with a short swing path, and consistently pulls the ball with line drives. With 2+ years of high school left, excited to see Chase's growth in all aspects of his game!

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
