06/23/2023 - Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series Chet is a 2027 C/RHP out of Conshohocken, PA who honed his skills during the BF Select Training at The College World Series. He has a great attitude and is very coachable. Behind the dish he presents a big target and tracks pitches well. He gains ground to second base with ability to get rid of baseball. Made accurate throws to 2nd base from a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 70mph and a best pop time of 2.75 seconds. A right-handed pitcher who shows a good feel for pitching with ability to pound the strike zone. Starts with a small rocker step and gathers over the rubber. He attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 64mph with plus command, and an 11/5 shaped breaking ball. In 2 innings of work, he struck out 2 batters and didn't allow a run. At the plate he hits from an athletic and open stance with loose hands. A lower half driven swing with a fast barrel through the hitting zone. Shows good pitch recognition and only swings at pitches in the zone. In live game action, he proved to be a tough out as he made consistent contact and reached base 2 times. Chet worked hard all week in Omaha. We look forward to seeing him at another event in the near future.

11/03/2022 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex Chet is a C/RHP in the 2027 class. Behind the plate, he shows soft hands and strong glove presentation. Gets his thumb under the ball and tracks well with his body and eyes. Has a fast arm action and throws the top of the baseball. On the mound, he operates with a 3-pitch mix. His FB topped at 62 and was located well. His CB sat 50-1 with 11-5 shape. His CH had deception at 56-7 and had arm side run. At the plate, he showed solid bat speed (65 exit velo) and flashed some pull side pop. Loads his body well and engages his lower half in his swing. Working to flatten out his path and create more extension, will help him stay on the barrel longer. Overall, Chet can become a solid player if he continues to put the time in the weight room and on the diamond.

05/29/2022 - Official Player Development Membership - York, PA Chet is a C/RHP in the class of 2027. Behind the dish, he throws the ball with good direction while making clean exchanges and consistent throws around the bag. He works his thumb under the ball when receiving and tries to get his body in front of the ball to deaden it on balls in the dirt. As a hitter, he uses an open stance with some hand load and rhythm to work to a balanced hitting position. He swings the bat with intent and finds a lot of barrels by having good hand eye coordination. On the mound, he works with a quick tempo and does a good job of working in the direction of the mitt. He likes to work a 3 pitch mix of a fastball that topped out at 61 mph, a curveball with 10/4 action and a change up that had run to the arm side. With five plus years to develop, Chet has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

02/26/2022 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Pitching/Catching Weekend (MS) Chet Taylor, RHP 2027, Plymouth Whitemarsh HS (Conshohocken, PA) Solid delivery mechanics. Gathers over the rubber and works with good separation timing and overall clean delivery. Keeps his eyes on the target and uses his lower 1/2 well. Working on overall arm strength will help him command his fastball and be even more efficient on the mound.

01/14/2022 - Baseball Factory's Spring Training at Jackie Robinson Training Complex(Ages 12-14) Chet is a high baseball IQ RHP/1B in the class of 2027 out of Conshohocken, PA. At 1B, he did a good job of keeping the ball in front of him while making the routine plays. He worked through the ball with momentum to create strong feeds/throws to his targets. Offensively, he used a square stance with a small load to work the entire field and showed good glimpses of gap to gap power. On the bump, he oozed confidence with good intent on his pitches. He worked 3 pitches in his arsenal which included a fastball (59 mph), a breaking ball with 9/3 action and a change-up that had sink out of zone. Chet could benefit from programs/drills such as strength training, arm path, long toss, bands, mobility, speed & agility.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
