05/18/2008 - College PREP - Baltimore, MD Chris is a tall athlete with broad shoulders. At 1B, Chris has soft hands and good footwork when turning the double play. His throws are accurate and have carry. He needs to play through the ball a little more to increase momentum to target, but he is a slightly above average fielder. At the plate, Chris' swing has rhythm and balance. He has some pop to the pull side and he shows that he can use his lower half. He must let the ball travel in order to hit the ball where it is pitched instead of pulling everything. He is still young and has potential at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
