09/03/2021 - Baseball Factory's All-Region Tournament (HS) Chris is a physical 1B/RHP (6'1/195lb). At 1B, Chris continues to show good footwork around the bag. On the ground ball he shows fluid actions with good glove presentation out front. Offensively, Chris shows great balance in his stroke. He swings a quick bat with intent to do damage (87 mph exit velo). On the mound, Chris displays solid mechanics with a 3/4 arm slot. He has a 3 pitch mix with fastball (81 mph), breaking ball (67 mph) and change up (73 mph). The breaking ball has a 11/5 action with early break and the change up shows great effectiveness with good arm speed. All in all, Chris is a promising prospect with big upside.

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Chris is a projectable (6'0"/180) 2-way prospect who continues to show well. With the bat, this RHH displays a tall stance with rhythm to load. Swing is quick on a short/direct path to and through the zone as he connects and creates consistent/hard contact. At 1B, he has active prep working right to left to the GB. Hands are presented out front fielding the ball softly. He has good footwork around the 1B bag adjusting to throws up and down the line. On the mound, this RHP works tall, has smooth separation and stays directional toward the dish. He finishes complete and gets good extension out over his front side. FB tops out at 78 mph as he works it to both sides of the plate. Slider shows 9/3 shape with 'cutter' like action. CH has slight tail and compliments his FB well. This 2-way player has a ton of upside and (only a 2024 grad) will make things happen in a variety of ways on the diamond over the next few years.

12/27/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Pittsburgh, PA Chris is a tall, lanky RHP/1B who has a promising future on the diamond. At 1B, defensive abilities are well above average as he shows smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate with on line carry (82 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate he continues to shine through an athletic, open setup. Hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable as he shows good tempo through a strong balance point, allowing his arm action to work quick and free to the plate. Fastball shows a range of 75-77 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 4 years to further develop, Chris has an upside and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
