08/10/2010 - College PREP - La Jolla, CA Chris is a talented, average sized, OF that will graduate in 2011. Chris has good hands, feet, and overall athleticism. He is aggressive to the ball, takes good routes and angles, and he makes plays. He has a solid glove, good arm action, and he throws accurately with carry to his target. A quicker 1st step and better crow hop will help defensive numbers get even better. At the plate, Chris has good balance, bat speed, and barrel accuracy. He has a level swing path, rhythmic swing, and the ball jumps off his bat when centered. Chris is a nice player that will have a bright future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
