09/27/2015 - College PREP - Scranton, PA Christian is a tall, big RHP/1B with tools to take him to the next level. On the mound, he throws from an OH arm slot with a free and loose arm. He gathers himself over the rubber and stays balanced throughout the delivery while keeping his chest over his knee. He mixes 3 pitches well in the high 60s to high 70s and will see more success as he gains command of all 3 pitches. At 1B, Christian made the routine plays with a sure, on time glove with athletic actions. His throws to the bag were accurate with carry. At the plate, this RHH hits from a square stance with strong balance. He uses his large frame to generate some lower 1/2 drive and pop to the pull side. Loosening up his hands and staying on a level/slightly uphill plane to the ball will allow Christian to hit more balls in the zone. Overall, this 2017 grad shows tools and drive to take him to the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
