09/12/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Erie, PA Christian continues to show as a top prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. Behind the plate, feet are aggressive and active as he works in line to his target, through a clean transfer/exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Receiving/blocking skills show as quality tools that will play at a high level. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 1.97 with accuracy/carry (88 mph velocity) on his throws. He will control the running game with his feet/arm. At 2B, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth/fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to square balls up and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft/sure and presents well out front. He moves well laterally and covers ground in the MIF. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter with outstanding abilities from both sides. Hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and drives the ball to all fields. Power is best shown as a LHH. Christian has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Christian seems to get better each time we see him. He had an impressive showing at the Pre-Season AA Tournament showing 88 mph raw arm strength, throwing a 2.08 to 2B and showing his athleticism with a time of 7.13 in the 60. He is a polished receiver who is good on balls in the dirt and his throws have carry to 2B and are accurate. At the plate he swings from both sides with a bit more power on display from the left side this weekend. He has natural rhythm both ways, is balanced, and has good hands that deliver the barrel with consistency. Overall, Christian is an exciting 2023 prospect with an excellent profile - an athletic, switch-hitting catcher.

09/23/2020 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic Christian continues to shine when he steps onto the diamond and did so again at the Arizona Fall Classic. He is a vocal leader and takes charge on the field. Behind the plate, feet are aggressive and active as he works in-line to his target, through a clean transfer/exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.10 with accuracy/carry (82 mph velocity) on his throws. Quick lateral actions and + athleticism help him to center pitches in the dirt, blocking and keeping everything in front. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter with similar abilities from both sides. He has good zone awareness and doesn't swing at much out of the zone. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered as he works to stay inside the ball to utilize all fields. He battles at the plate and proved to be a tough out going 5 for 10 with 2 doubles and 1 single. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and a leader behind the dish. Knight is a gamer who leaves it all on the field.

08/17/2020 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Columbus, OH Christian continues to shine on the diamond. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer/exchange. He shows a squared setup and presents a soft mitt out front and utilizes his body through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. At SS, feet active as he works to square balls up. Hands are clean and presents well out front. At the plate, he improved his hitting abilities from the left side, now showing well above average. Hands are quick and work through level swing path. He makes consistent hard contact with power showing best to the pull side.

07/13/2020 - All-In Membership - Avon (Cleveland), OH Christian is a very talented 2-way prospect who continues to shine. Behind the dish, he sits in well with athletic actions and sway/flexion, tracking pitches into a soft mitt. He is quick laterally, centering pitches off of his chest, deadening the ball in front. Throws to 2B are on the bag with pop times still in the low 2's. At SS, Christian has active prep taking good angles around the GB right to left and working through the ball fluidly. He has the ability to throw from multiple am angles with accuracy to 1B. As a hitter, this switch hitter maintains a balanced setup with patience, waiting for a pitch he likes. He tracks pitches into the zone, whips the barrel with speed and hits hard line-drives. Knight (2023 grad) is a skilled athlete who has a bright future ahead of him in the game.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Christian is a C prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. Behind the plate, Christian sits in an athletic stance and receives with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate to the 2B bag. He is quick moving to block and keeps the ball in front of him. At the plate, this switch hitter sets up in a square stance and takes a soft stride. He is on time getting into a simple load and drives through well with his lower half. He works through a smooth swing path and produces consistent contact. Overall, Christian is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

07/15/2019 - College PREP - Avon (Cleveland), OH Christian continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an above average runner at 7.38. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.11 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the ball quicker. He shows a solid setup and presents a low target. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get down sooner. At SS, defense has improved as he displays clean/smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up, presenting hands as he makes the plays. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter and has improved from both sides but best projects as a LHH. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Christian has a bright future ahead of himself.

07/25/2018 - National Tryout - Avon (Cleveland), OH Christian continues to show solid skills and improvements in his game. He is a young, talented catcher who can switch hit. Behind the plate, Christian has quick feet, he fields low and athletically, and his hands are soft and sure. He has good flexion, a quick release, and a strong/accurate arm to 2nd base. Christian lowered pop times to 2.20 during the workout. Offensively, Christian is a solid hitter from both sides of the plate. From the left, Christian has a tall set-up, good balance, and a direct barrel to the ball. He makes square/level contact through the zone. From the right side, Christian has a square set-up, a level swing, and he uses his lower body well. Christian has a bright future ahead of himself.

11/17/2016 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Christian is a young C who will graduate in 2023. Behind the plate, Christian uses his feet efficiently and is agile blocking balls in the dirt. He sits in a square position and presents his hands out front to receive the ball with soft hands. He has a clean exchange to throw with a short arm action from a high 3/4 angle. He gains momentum to his target well which allows his throws to remain accurate and on-line. Christian can improve defensively by presenting a lower target to the pitcher. At the plate, Christian sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride to the ball. He is smooth getting back into his load and comes through the zone well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing path to the ball with fast bat speed which leads to consistent contact, driving the ball to all fields. Christian can improve as a hitter by loading his hands sooner. Mental makeup is a plus as Christian displayed a great attitude and worked hard during the event. Overall, Christian is a solid prospect who has the time and potential to further develop his skills.

08/07/2016 - Interactive Video Program - Dublin (Columbus), OH Christian is a 2-way player (C/SS) who graduates in 2023. Offensively, this switch hitter currently shows more naturally from the right side. He has rhythm to load and remains balanced. Swing is level as he squares the ball up and looks to drive the middle of the field. Behind the dish, he sits in well and tracks pitches into a soft mitt. He has a clean exchange and gains ground working in-line toward 2B on his throws down - pop times of 2.75. At SS, Christian is aggressive and hustles into a square fielding position. He plays through the ball and makes accurate throws to his target. Continuing to work on the following will help to improve skills on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
