08/29/2024 - All-Ripken Games - Baltimore, MD Christian Mazzocchi is a CC/2B prospect that recently played at the All-Ripken Games. First off, it needs to be pointed out that this kid has a very great attitude and obviously has fun when he's playing the game. Those are traits that usually get overlooked however they shouldn't because more often than not when a kid is out there having fun and displaying a very positive attitude, he tends to be more successful because he can handle failure easier and thrive through adversity. And not that he had any adversity at the All-Ripken Games, but he definitely has some success! His strike zone awareness at the plate was evident as he was able to draw two walks. His weekend was highlighted by a two RBI double, and he was also able to drive in a run on a single. So again, he got the job done at the plate. his relentless hustle on the bass path was also evident as he routinely would take extra bases whenever the opposing outfielders would miss their cuts. Needless to say, his awareness level when running the basis was through the roof. Defensively he showed a ton of athleticism and complemented that with deadly accurate arm.
