07/06/2023 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (MS) Christian is a 2028 1B who improved his skills during the BF Select Training and Competition in Cape Cod. At 1B his frame and height jump out at you. He works to center the baseball and tracks ball to glove as he fields out front. Made accurate throws to second base from a low 3/4 arm slot and an arm velocity up to 64mph. At the plate he hits from an upright and wide stance. He does a good job of using his long levers to generate bat speed. Rotates the lower half well and shows ability to deliver the barrel. In live game action he made consistent contact and reached base multiple times. Christian worked hard and was coachable during his week in Cape Cod. We look forward to seeing him at another event in the near future.

06/09/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory All-State Tournament (MS) Christian is a 2028 1B prospect with a big frame at 6'3" 190 pounds who recently showed his skills at the All-State Tournament in Mississippi. He improved on both his 40 and 60 times as well as his home to first time. At first, he gives a big target to his infielders and works hard to get his feet in the right spot when fielding. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and recorded a raw velo of 55 MPH. At the plate, he starts in a tall stance with high hands and has a simple load with a short stride to the pitcher. He shows off good bat speed and can drive the ball to all fields, showing good strength to the gaps. He keeps his hands inside the baseball and greatly improved on his exit velo, recording 77 MPH off the bat. In game action, he reached base in two of seven plate appearances with a walk and a single. With his size and strength, Christian should continue to make strides in his baseball development and is definitely a prospect to keep an eye on!

01/13/2023 - Baseball Factory's Spring Training at Jackie Robinson Training Complex (MS) Christian Raschella is a long, tall 2028 1B prospect. In the field, he showcases a clean exchange and does a great job with picks/backhand plays. As he gets more comfortable in his frame, he has a good chance of improving his footwork at 1B. At the plate, the RHH has a squared setup with high hands. He shows good strength at the plate with good bat speed that he uses to hit line drives. There is an opportunity to work on being more fluid with his swing.

12/18/2022 - All-In Membership - Bronx, NY Christian is a young, tall, 2-way player who plays 1B and OF. In the INF, Christian has active feet, long levers, and he covers ground well. He makes plays, his exchange is clean, and he throws with direction toward his target. If Christian can play more through the ball, field further out front, and add arm strength, abilities at 1B will improve. In the OF, Christian has young actions, he gets good reads, and tracks well. He makes the routine plays and throws with some accuracy to his target. Christian can improve in the OF with added foot speed and a more sure glove. Offensively, Christian has a tall/square stance, good balance, and a level bat path. He has a direct barrel, he works the ball gap to gap, and shows some strength in his swing. Hitting can improve with work on timing, barrel accuracy, and with more lower 1/2.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
