05/02/2010 - College PREP - Farmingville (Long Island), NY Christian is a young, tall and thick 2-way player that Pitches and plays 3B. He currently projects better on the mound, but still has time to improve at both positions. On the mound, Christian has life on his FB, which touches 84 MPH. His CB and CH are above average pitches with compliment his FB well. Christian is a competitor on the hill, he gives good effort, and he has a good idea. More use of his lower 1/2, and more finish and extension will only help this young RHP get even better. At 3B, Christian has soft hands and average range. He makes plays on balls hit his way, and has a loose arm that is accurate, with carry across the diamond. Fielding can improve if Christian can work to field the ball more out in front of his body, and quicken his feet. At the plate, Christian has some balance and barrel accuracy. He puts the ball in play, but will need to improve his hitting in order to play 3B at the next level. Hitting can improve with higher hands, a more closed front side, and more use of his lower 1/2.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
