10/28/2012 - College PREP - Atlanta, GA Christopher is lanky LHP/OF that will graduate in 2015. Currently, he projects best in the OF for the next level. Feet are active as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He needs to work on getting behind balls more to play through and improve defensive grade. Throws are accurate, flashing carry as he will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate is where Blanchard shows best through an athletic stance / setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel with the baseball jumping off his bat when centered, mainly to the pull side. For hitting grades to continue to improve, he needs to work to keep hands inside the ball to utilize all fields. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 75-77 mph. He maintains arm speed on his change with fading action. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as more arm strength is grained. With 3 years to further develop, Christopher has potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve.
