04/25/2021 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Binghamton, NY Christopher is a RHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the diamond. On the mound, Christopher gathers over the rubber and works with a clean arm. He stays inline toward the plate and extends through his release, finishing with his chest over his front knee. Christopher operates with a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 56mph. Changeup sits from 48-51mph with tailing action. Driving his lower half more can help Christopher improve his pitch velocity. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting back into his load and works to barrel up the baseball, producing solid contact. Christopher can create more consistent contact by working through a more level swing path. Overall, Christopher is a developing prospect who has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

11/07/2020 - Pittsburgh Regional Pitching/Catching & Offensive Skills Combined Weekend Christopher is a RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Pittsburgh Skills Weekend. On the mound, Christopher gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline toward the plate. Christopher shows a three pitch mix with his four-seam topping out at 56mph. Two-seam sits at the same velo with sinking action. Changeup sits from 52-53mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Accelerating his arm through his release can help Christopher generate more arm velocity. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance with comfortable hands. He is smooth to load and works to barrel up the baseball, using the entire field well. Christopher can produce more consistent contact by working through a more level swing path. With five more years to develop, Christopher has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
