06/14/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Florida This athletic MIF shows a tremendous future on the dia-mond. A RHH- hands are quick (82 mph exit ve-locity) as he squares the ball up consistently driving it on a line. Defensively, he takes a quick first step) and has plus lateral range. He creates angles around the GB with fluid actions. DP turns are quick with zip on his throws. Defen-sive abilities are outstanding as he shows big play poten-tial. Christopher has a ton of upside and possesses the skill-set that will play at a very high level.

01/08/2017 - National Tryout Plus - Jacksonville, FL Chris improved his defensive abilities in the MIF, now showing as a well above average tool. Feet are active / aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through well with his body. He moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground, displaying range. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy / carry on his throws. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup with rhythm. Hands continue to show as loose / quick as he works through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields and flashes strength in his swing.

07/20/2016 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 16U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Pratt continues to shine on the diamond. This athletic MIF showed well during his time at the Under Armour Southwest Championships. He is a hard worker who leaves it all on the field. With the bat, this RHH has an athletic setup with fluid rhythm to load. He lets the ball travel and hits the ball where it's pitched, driving it to all parts of the field with some pop (exit velocity = 88 mph). In the MIF, he has quick/fluid actions and works into a low fielding position. He makes the plays with soft hands and is quick to get rid of the ball. Pratt is a solid all-around athlete who will make things happen when he steps onto the diamond.

04/17/2016 - College PREP - Tallahassee, FL Christopher continues to show a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the MIF, he shows smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active / aggressive as he attacks balls and moves well laterally. Glove action is clean and he shows good body control. Presenting his glove more out in front will help to avoid getting the ‘in between' hop. Continuing to increase foot quickness will aid in improving range. At the plate he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He works to stay inside, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he loads and works to utilize his lower half more aggressively.

11/01/2015 - National Tryout Plus - Tampa, FL Pratt continues to progress in his game. This athletic MIF moves quickly from right to left around the GB and fields the ball with soft/sure hands. Exchange is clean with accurate throws to 1B as he works in-line toward his target. As a hitter - Pratt shows a balanced/athletic setup with patience, waiting for his pitch. He barrels the ball up consistently and drives it to the gaps (exit velocity = 83 mph). Even more power potential is there with more use of his lower 1/2. Continuing to develop his foot speed will help him to take that next step as a MIF. Pratt has upside and will only continue to get better.

06/20/2015 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 Pratt continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At SS, defensive grade has improved, displaying smooth / clean actions. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he attacks balls more while presenting hands more out front and improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He shows a simple approach and makes consistent contact as he works to stay inside the ball to utilize all fields. Mental makeup is a plus as he is great team player and carries himself in a positive manner with high energy. We have seen Chris a lot, and he shows consistent improvements each time. He is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

01/16/2015 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Christopher is a talented SS that has improved his game in all areas. In the infield he fields out front of his body with sure hands, works around the ball well, and is quick turning double plays. His exchange is quick and he makes accurate throws with good life across the diamond. At the plate he has a smooth load, strong balance, and he uses his lower half well. He has a good rhythm and he gets good extension. He showed gap to gap power during BP and games and should be a nice fit in the middle of the order at the next level.

11/02/2014 - National Tryout - Tampa, FL Chris continues to progress in his baseball abilities. Offensively, Chris has a balanced approach, he tracks the baseball well, and he swings in good rhythm. He makes consistent contact and gets the bat through the zone well. At 2B, Chris fields out front, he stays low, and fields with proper footwork with accuracy across the diamond.

07/25/2014 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City Christopher is an athletic 2B that showcased his athleticism during camp. At 2B he fields with sure hands, has good body control, and is aggressive to the ball using the proper footwork. He works well around the bag on double plays and has a quick exchange making accurate throws. At the plate he has a smooth load, strong balance, and a nice rhythm. He keeps his hands inside the ball allowing him to spray the ball to all fields. He is a line drive hitter with quick hands and looks very comfortable at the plate. He was one of the top power hitters at the entire event. Chris is a great kid who has fun playing the game and he continues to show us improvements each time we see him.

12/27/2013 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic Chris is an athletic Infielder who is very agile and competes constantly. As an infielder, Chris has fluid mechanics and flows through the ball well. He stays down and makes sure he fields the ball cleanly. He continues to improve his footwork and his angles to the ball. At the plate, Chris has a smooth swing, is very balanced and his hands works inside the ball very well. Chris continues to polish his mechanics and his timing, and working on loading his hands earlier will help with his swing. We have seen him a few times and he always is very solid mechanically. The next big jump in his ability should come as he physically matures and quickens up his feet, and it is only a matter of time before that happens.

12/27/2012 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Vero Beach Chris is a middle infielder that can consistently put the ball in play on the offensive end. Defensively Chris has good, soft hands with an accurate arm. To play up the middle in the future Chris needs to improve his foot-speed and first step quickness. At the plate Chris has a nice approach and displays good barrel contact, while also being aggressive with getting his lower half through. He has a sound, athletic stance with a simple set-up and load. Chris could improve his power by working on his strength to drive the ball more consistently. He showed the ability to consistently get on base during tournament play as well. Overall Chris has the mechanics and baseball skills to excel in the future, if he continues to work on his speed and strength he could become an impact player in the field and at the plate.

11/10/2011 - Pirate City Select Training - 2011 (Pre HS) Chris Pratt is a 2018 graduate who plays short stop and 3rd base. Chris throws from all angles in the infield and follows all his throws. With his inconsistent arm slot, he sometimes can be inaccurate, so he needs to find a more consistent slot for better accuracy. In the infield he has sure hands, active and controlled footwork, playable range, and makes good feeds and pivots well around the bag. At the plate, Chris is a right handed hitter who has an athletic and square set up. His load is on time and he has a short leg kick with his stride. He does use his lower half and he makes consistent contact with a short and level bat path. All week he was a hitter who sprays the ball to all fields. He has very sound mechanics and is fun to watch. Chris is a great kid who is going to become a great player. His fundamentals are strong already and with more reps he will become an impact player at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
