Official Scouting Report

08/01/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Washington, DC Christopher is a tall RHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. On the mound, Christopher gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through his release, staying inline toward the plate. Christopher operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 74mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 63-66mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 63-64mph with arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Long tossing can help Christopher build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He gets back into his load and hits against a strong front side. He works through a direct swing with fast bat speed, driving the ball from gap to gap. Christopher can improve his timing at the plate by getting his stride foot down sooner. Overall, Christopher is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

05/16/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Frederick, MD Christopher is a class of 2023 1B prospect. At the plate, he shows the ability to work the baseball to all parts of the field. Does a good job getting extension through the baseball. Shows the ability to create a good set up. Power will come as he continues to grow, exit velos already up to 85 MPH. In the field, he shows some arm strength when throwing across. Does a good job using his clean arm action to help create accurate throws. Shows bag awareness on double plays. Christopher is a well-rounded player that we hope to see again in the future.

03/13/2021 - Spring Pro Training Experience - MD (HS) Christopher improved his defensive abilities at the Pro Training event. At 1B, defensive abilities are now solid as he displays smooth, athletic actions. Feet are active as he displays proper foot work around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is soft / sure and he consistently showed the ability to pick balls out of the dirt. Throws are accurate with carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness.

09/26/2020 - Fall Pro Training Experience - MD (HS) Christopher continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved through a crouched setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At 1B, he continues to shine as he displays smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 69-73 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but throws too hard, resembling fastball. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Christopher is a tall and young 1B that graduates in 2023. At 1B, Christopher works hard to create good angles and get into a good fielding position. Getting his hands a little lower and more out in front of his body will allow him to be a more consistent fielder. As he works to throw, he gets rid of the ball with accuracy to the target. At the plate, Christopher sets up in a square and athletic stance with high hands taking a short stride keeping his weight centered. He gets the barrel on plane with the pitch showing + barrel control hitting the ball to all fields. Christopher showed good IQ for the game and will continue to grow and improve.

10/13/2019 - College PREP - Baltimore, MD Christopher is a strong 1B prospect who will graduate in 2023. In the field, Christopher shows active footwork and fields with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting into his load and leads well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed with power showing best to the pull side. Overall, Christopher is a talented prospect who should find success going into his freshmen season.

12/08/2018 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Hitting Weekend (Ages 12-14) Christopher is strong and intelligent 2023 prospect that made several adjustments throughout the Mid Atlantic Hitting Weekend. At the plate, Christopher starts in a closed stance, gets his front foot down on time, and has tremendous hands to the ball. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball, create backside rotation with his lower half, and keep his head down at contact. Christopher will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

11/03/2018 - College Recruiting Day - Ellicott City, MD Chris is a 1B prospect who will graduate in 2023. In the field, Chris shows active footwork and takes a good first step. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
