08/02/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Christopher continues to show steady progress in his baseball abilities. In the OF, feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He reads balls well off the bat and works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness Throws are accurate but needs to work to get rid of the baseball quicker and improve arm strength to improve arm grade. At the plate he shows a crouched setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and has strength in his swing through a line drive approach. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and a very hard worker with a positive attitude.

04/23/2017 - National Tryout Plus - Plymouth Meeting (Philadelphia), PA Christopher continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he has improved the most, now displaying well above average hitting / power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work to and through a level swing path, creating extension. He has strength in his swing with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered. Hands stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Behind the plate, pop times showed in the 2.43 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Hands are soft / sure and he sticks balls in the zone. He shows off his athletic abilities through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner and improve flexibility. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He needs to work to get behind and play through with momentum to his target to improve defensive grade. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness.

08/04/2016 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training & Tournament at Historic Dodgertown Christopher is a lean OF who will graduate in 2018. In the OF, he utilizes his athletic feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles and utilizes two hands well through the fielding process. He works to get behind balls playing through with momentum to his target. Increasing foot quickness will aid in improving range. Throws are accurate, flashing carry but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared / athletic setup with rhythm. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He has pop in his swing with power showing best to the pull side. With 2 years to further develop, Christopher has abilities with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
