09/02/2012 - College PREP - Kansas City, MO CJ improved his foot speed and is now a well above average as indicated by his 7.17 60 time. Feet are active as he works to square up ground balls and displays clean hands. He needs to attack balls more and play through while presenting hands more out front to continue to improve defensive grade. Throws are accuracy, flashing carry but needs to work on getting rid of the ball quicker and build more arm strength to improve arm grade. At the plate is where Egelston shows best through an athletic setup. Hands are loose / quick, generating bat speed through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel with baseball exploding off his bat when centered. Power numbers will continue to increase as he learns to load more and transfer weight properly through his lower half. CJ has potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve.
