11/18/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Fall Prospects Tournament (HS) CJ is a 2025 1B/LHP who showcased his skills during the Fall Prospects Tournament. In the field, CJ worked to center the baseball, with quick/active footwork, and showed ability to scoop balls. He creates good fielding angles and tracks ball to glove. Showed good body control as he fields from an athletic fielding position and has a clean exchange. Made accurate throws from a high 3/4 arm slot, with a loose arm stroke, and an arm velocity up to 74mph. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and even stance with comfortable hands. He has controlled rhythm to his swing, with good barrel control, and has a smooth swing. A flat barrel path enables him to hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 79mph. During the games, he reached base on 2 singles. A left-handed pitcher, he gathers over the rubber and strides in-line to target. Has a good feel for pitching and has some deception to his delivery. A 3-pitch pitcher who works off of a FB that topped out at 70mph, a 2/8 shaped breaking ball, and a changeup with good movement that he throws with FB arm speed. In 2 innings of work, he punched out 3 batters and didn't allow a hit. CJ is a 2-way prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
