01/24/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Ruther Glen (Richmond), VA Clark continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls out front. Receiving / blocking skills show as outstanding tools that will play well at the next level. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.00 with accuracy and carry to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying solid hitting abilities with outstanding power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. Clark has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

07/29/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Norfolk, VA Clark is a strong SS/RHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. In the field, Clark shows fluid footwork and is very agile ranging to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange with a quick release on his throws, keeping them accurate with good carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a square stride. He shows a fluid rhythm and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed which leads to square contact and gap to gap pop. On the mound, Clark gathers over the rubber and works with a clean arm action. He extends through on his release and finishes with his chest over his front knee. Clark shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 76mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 61-62mph with 11-5 break. Changeup ranges from 61-66mph with tailing action as he throws with fastball arm speed. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Remove glove pat
2. Controlled approach to slow rollers
Hitting
1. More load
2. Wider stance
Ptiching
1. Square stride
2. Longer arm stroke

07/29/2016 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Clark continues to show progress in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. At SS, feet are active / aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through a low approach while presenting glove well out front. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds of the double play. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he increases foot quickness. At the plate he shows best through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an uphill swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing the whole field. Power will increase as he works to utilize his lower half more aggressively and adds overall body strength. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 66 mph. Fastball shows a range of 64-66 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Knuckleball displays sinking action but slows arm speed. Getting on a long toss program to build more arm strength will aid in further development on mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard. Overall, Clark is a talented young prospect who will be a name to follow as he continues to develop.

05/15/2016 - Interactive Video Program - Glen Allen (Richmond), VA Clark is a young (2022 grad) 2-way player as a SS/RHP. With the bat, this righty displays a square setup with centered balance. He takes an aggressive hack and barrels the ball up consistently. At SS, Clark has active prep and comes to get the GB. He moves well around the ball, presents his glove out in front and makes the plays with soft/sure hands. On the mound, this RHP has a 3-pitch mix (FB, CB, KN) coming from a high 3/4 arm slot. He works to a tall balance point, has smooth separation and stays directional toward the plate. FB ranges from 60-62 mph while showing slight sink. Breaking ball has 10/4 shape - 51-53 mph. He finishes complete and in an athletic fielding position. Overall skills in his game will improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
