06/12/2008 - College PREP - Sanford (Orlando), FL Clayton is a tall young player with potential. On the mound, Clayton has a balanced delivery that uses his lower half well. He has good movement on his FB and an understanding of a CH and SPL. He throws across his body and is late picking up the target, but he has enough raw ability for coaches to take an interest. At the plate, Clayton has a solid approach with bat speed and a level swing. He hits a lot of line drives and can increase his bat speed by keeping his lead elbow bent during the swing. He has an idea, but he has more potential on the mound.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
