07/18/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Clayton is a strong two way RHP/SS who will graduate in 2021. In his at bats, he was able to manufacture two hits, a single and a double. At the plate he used a tall stance, going into a long stride to create separation. He fires his hands quickly to the ball and has a level bat path allowing the bat to stay in the zone for a long time. In the infield, Clayton showed active feet, taking good angles with smooth, athletic motions. He also showed the ability to field balls to his backhand and also up the middle. Lowering his fielding position and being soft with his hands will help his defense. On the mound, Clayton possesses a projectable, lengthy frame throwing from a high ¾ arm slot. He showed the ability to throw a fastball, curveball, and changeup. He showed great feel for his changeup as he keeps it down in the zone. Getting more extension and leverage on his arm action will help add velocity. Clayton continues to improve each time he steps on the field.
