04/28/2013 - Interactive Video Program - Mesa (Phoenix), AZ Codey is a tall, 2-way player with a thin frame. Behind the plate, Codey has firm hands, playable feet, and he centers the ball well. He has simple actions, looks the ball in, and throws with a long arm action with consistency to his target. On the hill, Codey has level shoulders, a controlled balance point, and he lands in a sound position. At the plate, Codey has a tall set-up, a short stride, and good balance. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
