04/02/2017 - College PREP - Sanford (Orlando), FL Cody is a lean, athletic 2B who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 60 time of 7.31. In the MIF, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays quick / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Glove action is soft / sure but will benefit by presenting more out front. Athletic abilities are present through his feeds / turn of the double play. He moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground, displaying range in the MIF. Throws are accurate with life, accuracy, and on line carry to his target. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact and utilizes his lower half well with power showing best to the pull side. Cody has potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
