12/11/2020 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament Cody is a strong and athletic 3B prospect in the 2021 class. At 3B, he plays on the balls of his feet in a relaxed position, ready to move right and left. He presents his glove out in front while creating a clean exchange. Efficient footwork allows him to create momentum producing an accurate, strong throw (82 mph arm velo) with a clean 3/4 arm slot. At the plate, he stands square with comfortable hands. His short/simple load allows for great body control. With good rhythm and + barrel control, Cody produces consistent line-drive contact recording his best exit velo to date (84 mph). Cody continues to work hard and should find success in this his senior year.

12/27/2017 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Cody is an athletic 3B who has a promising future on the diamond. At 3B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active / aggressive as he takes good first steps in attacking the baseball. Glove action is soft / clean but needs to present more out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds of the double play. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate, flashing carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared / athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a compact swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At the event, he was 3 for 7. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard. With 4 years to further develop, Cody has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
