09/05/2010 - College PREP - Plainfield, IN Cody is a tall, thin, SS that will graduate in 2011. Defensively, Cody has playable hands and he takes good angles to the ball. He fields the ball out in front of his body, has a nice exchange, and throws with life and carry to his target. If Cody can avoid throwing against his body, and use his legs more, defensive grades can get even better. Offensively, Cody has good balance and he puts the ball in play. He makes decent contact and can spray to all fields. Cody will need to add strength and improve his bat speed in order for offensive numbers to get better.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
