07/28/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Cody showed similar abilities in Pirate City as in previous events. He is a good sized 1st basemen with efficient footwork and a big frame. Cody positions himself well, gets a good 1st step to the ball, and presents his glove well. He has a clean exchange and accuracy from a short arm action to his target. At the plate Cody is short to the ball, he stands in athletically, and load properly. He has good strength in his swing and pull pop in his bat.

03/05/2017 - College PREP - Chattanooga, TN Cody is a tall, broad (6'2�, 245lbs) 2018 1B prospect. He takes a monster hack at the dish and shows off his impressive strength with a huge display of power to crush the ball to all fields and over the fence. His powerful load and strong lower half lead to fast bat speed through the zone and directly to the ball. He makes hard, line drive contact for base hits to all fields and can drive the ball to the deepest parts of the field with ease. At first, he presents his hands out front to field and dictate hops to make plays cleanly. His hands are clean to exchange and release and he has an accurate arm around the infield. Speed and agility drill will improve footwork and increase his range. Cody is a very intriguing prospect with a very high ceiling on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
