07/07/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory's National West Showcase Cody is one of the most talented players in the 2021 class and he showed it again at the Baseball Factory West Showcase. He has big tools (6.63 in the 60, 95 mph exit velocity, 92 mph raw arm strength) and can really swing the bat. He has natural feel for the barrel and it was on display at the event as he took a loud BP driving balls into the gaps. Cody is a quick-twitch athlete and that translates to a good first step and excellent lateral range in the infield. His hands are sure and his strong, accurate arm is plenty for the left side of the infield. He will be one of the prospects followed very close leading up to next June's draft.

06/01/2019 - 2019 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National West Cody is an athletic RHH MIF that shows as a top prospect on the diamond. At the plate, hands are quick (87 mph exit velocity) as he squares the ball up consistently driving it on a line. Defensively, he takes a quick first step (6.75 60 time) and has plus lateral range. He creates angles around the GB with fluid actions. DP turns are quick with zip (87 mph velocity) on his throws. Defensive abilities are near a pro level as he shows big play potential. Cody has a ton of upside and possesses the skill set that will play at a very high level.

12/20/2015 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 1 Cody is a hardworking, very coachable player that makes adjustments to be the best player he can be with a promising future on the diamond. At SS, he is a smooth/fluid fielder with hands/feet working well together through the fielding process as he plays through balls well. He will improve range as he improves foot quickness and presents glove more out front. Throws are accurate with life as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Offensively, he works on time and uses his lower half well through a short/direct swing path. Hands work inside the ball and uses his lower half well as he utilizes all fields through a line drive type swing path. With 5 years to further develop, Cody has potential and will be a player to follow.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
