10/27/2024 - All-In National Showcase - Stillwater (Minneapolis), MN Colbe is a rising junior catcher and right-handed pitching prospect who showcases an impressive skill set both behind the plate and on the mound. With a medium, athletic frame, he ran an impressive 6.85-second 60-yard dash and a quick 4.19 home-to-first time, highlighting his overall speed and agility. Behind the plate, he demonstrates excellent footwork and body control, consistently centering the ball and working his thumb under for a quick release, generating momentum to his target. His arm velocity reaches 88 mph, with a best pop time of 2.05 seconds, and his ability to smother balls with a soft chest is a testament to his defensive reliability. As a left-handed hitter, he employs a short, square glide step with a smooth swing, generating late bat whip and maintaining a middle-of-the-field approach, with a short barrel path that consistently squares up the ball. On the mound, he works with good tempo and a simple, repeatable delivery, featuring a fastball up to 86 mph with movement, a tight-spinning slider, and a changeup with good depth. With continued development, this versatile player has a bright future and is well-positioned to compete at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
