08/14/2010 - College PREP - Gaffney, SC Colby is a young two-way player at 1B plus on the mound with a tall, athletic body that is well suited for positions. Currently, he projects best at 1B for the next level but has abilities on the mound. Feet are active displaying proper footwork as he displays a reliable glove. Hands and feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with solid carry on his throws. Offensively, Dishmond shows a balanced approach that allows his hands to work inside the ball, utilizing all fields. He has strength in his swing with the baseball jumping off his bat when centered, displaying gap to gap power. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 82-84 mph on a downhill plate with life. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with tight spin and late, sharp break. Changeup has solid feel for with fading action. He attacks hitters as he throws strikes with all his pitches, changing speeds well. With 2 years to further develop, Colby has a lot of potential with the makings to be a special type player at the next level, possibly a two-way guy.
