09/20/2023 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic (2025) Colby continues to shine with his baseball abilities at the Arizonia JR Fall Classic. At 3B, he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active as attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Throws are accurate with carry across the diamond. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At the event, he was 3 for 9. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

04/30/2023 - National Showcase - Highland Park (DFW), TX Colby is a SS prospect who will graduate in 2025. Medium frame athletic build with strength present. He ran his 60-yard dash in 6.89 seconds. At SS, he starts with quick/active feet and a good prep step. He works from right to left as he fields from a low/square fielding position with soft hands out front. A low funnel as he showed ability to throw from multiple arm slots with an arm velocity up to 88 mph. He holds his line on slow rollers. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and open stance. Smooth timing, with relaxed hands, and good barrel control at contact. A direct barrel path enables him to hit balls into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 80mph. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee this prospect having opportunities to play at the next level.

02/27/2022 - All-In Membership - Highland Park (DFW), TX Colby is a SS prospect who will graduate in 2025. Medium frame athletic build with strength present and plenty of room to add throughout. At SS, showed good feel for the position and has a huge upside. He starts with active/efficient footwork, with ability to cut down distance, and good body control at the baseball. He shows ability to cover ground and fields from an athletic/low fielding position with soft hands out front. Has a short arm stroke in the back as he showed ability to throw ability to throw from multiple arm slots. Made on-line throws consistently with an arm velocity up to 81mph across diamond. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and open stance. Starts with fluid/smooth timing, with knob to C, and gets his back hip through. A high finish through the baseball as he hit line drives into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 75mph. With 3 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Colby making huge strides on the baseball field.

11/07/2021 - All-In Membership - Highland Park (DFW), TX Colby is a 2B prospect who will graduate in 2025. Medium frame lean build with some strength present and room to add throughout. In the infield, he starts with active/efficient feet and good body control at baseball. He centers baseball as he fields from an athletic/low fielding position with hands out front. Showed good footwork to his backhand side. Made clean transfers, with a short/quick arm action, and made accurate/on-line throws to first base with an arm velocity up to 79mph. Showed good touch on his DP feeds and a 2-hand exchange on his DP pivots. A right-handed hitter, he hits from an athletic and open stance. He separates his hands, with fluid/smooth timing, and a good bat angle at contact. Has good balance at contact point with intent in swing. Hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 69mph. 4 years of growth and development should provide Colby with opportunities to make huge strides on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
