12/28/2014 - Interactive Video Program - Swarthmore (Philadelphia), PA Cole is a L/L 2-way player as a LHP/OF. On the mound, he has a 3-pitch mix (FB, CB, CH) coming from a high 3/4 arm slot. He keeps his eyes on the target, maintains level shoulders, and works in-line toward the dish. FB ranges from 59-62 mph showing gradual tail. He has good glove-side lead and repeats his delivery well. Breaking ball has 1/7 shape as he works the ball to both sides of the plate. In the OF, Cole is aggressive and tracks down fly-balls to his right and left. He plays through the ball and works in-line toward his target. With the bat, this LHH shows a square setup with good balance. Swing is compact through a level path as he extends through the zone. Overall abilities will improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
