06/15/2023 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 Cole continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.31 runner. In the OF, he displays smooth fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate, flashing carry (80 mph velocity) but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

12/18/2022 - National Showcase - Chandler (Phoenix), AZ Cole is an OF prospect who will graduate in 2026. Medium frame athletic build with strength present. In the OF, takes aggressive angles to balls, with efficient footwork, and showed good instincts as he worked behind and through the baseball. He fields from a square fielding position with a clean gather off of his left foot. Made on-line throws consistently, with a quick release, and an arm velocity up to 79mph. At the plate, he sets up with a tall and open stance. Showed good bat to ball skills, with quick hands, and is balanced at contact. He sprayed balls consistently to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 82mph during his round of BP. With 3 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Cole making huge strides on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
