04/23/2017 - College PREP - Fayetteville, AR Cole is a lean 3B/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.03. At 3B, he displays quick / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Glove action is soft / sure but needs to present earlier and more out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot ground. At the plate, he shows an athletic / crouched setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered, mainly to the pull side. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 72-74 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 3/9 shape with across break. He throws a knuckleball that is in the early development stages. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Cole has potential with a lot of room to continue to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
