01/19/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Cole is a 2027 SS/RHP who showcased his talents at the BF Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament. At SS, he starts from a relaxed position and has good instincts. He is agile to both sides of the ball and gets into a low-athletic fielding position. He throws from a high ¾ arm slot and had a good arm angle. On the mound, Cole showed a 3-pitch mix. He has a FB that sat 63-65 mph with good life, a CB that has good break, and a CH that he threw with FB arm speed. Cole had good mound presence, tried to pitch ahead in counts, and had a projectable strikeout pitch. In his outing, he allowed just 1 hit and 1 run. At the plate, he starts from a open stance and controlled timing. His swing path stayed on-plane and he has good bat speed. Cole does a great job of controlling the barrel and it showed in batting practice. Cole has a lot of potential as he continues to grow and we expect to see great things in the future from him.

11/05/2023 - National Showcase - Parker (Denver), CO Cole continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, defensive abilities are now outstanding as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works around and plays through the ball with his body. Hands are clean and presents out front. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 71 mph. Fastball showed a range of 67-71 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with short break. He maintains arm speed on his cutter with tailing action. Stock on the mound will continue to increase as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

07/28/2023 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC (MS) Cole is a talented and athletic SS/RHP in the 2027 class. In the field, he shows agile actions and gains a squared position to the baseball. Remains balanced in his fielding position and tracks the ball into the glove well. His exchanges are clean and uses a short over the top release. Arm is accurate and plays at 70 velo. He can be more aggressive in his pursuit and cut down the distance to allow for shorter throws. On the mound, he shows a solid feel for pitching and is aggressive with early strikes. Has a 4-pitch mix from a high ¾ slot. FB sat 61-3 with movement. His CB ranged 49, while the SL sat 54-6. His cutter was 58-60. With his repeatable mechanics, he can progress nicely on the mound. At the plate, he competes in the zone and has a controlled swing. See the baseball well and generates solid contact. Working on his timing will be a key point as he progresses to higher pitching. Overall, Cole has a bright future.

04/23/2023 - National Showcase - Parker, CO Cole is a lean SS/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. At SS, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves his foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 61-63 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sink. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 4 years to further develop, Cole has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
