12/27/2024 - Baseball Factory East Coast Winter Classic (MS) Cole continues to show strong potential on the diamond, impressing both in the outfield and on the mound for the first time at the event. In the outfield, he displays smooth, fluid actions with active feet, taking proper routes and angles to track down balls. He works to get behind the ball and plays through with momentum, targeting his throws effectively. His range will grow as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, Cole uses an athletic setup and quick hands, working through an aggressive swing path while staying inside the ball and utilizing all fields for line-drive contact. His power will increase further as he better incorporates his lower half. On the mound, Cole's fastball ranges from 59-62 mph, showing arm-side run, while his breaking ball exhibits 11/5 shape with gradual break. Adding strength through a long toss program and refining his off-speed pitches will raise his stock on the mound. With a strong mental makeup, Cole is highly coachable and dedicated to becoming the best player he can be. for a second Cole is showing great promise on the diamond, featuring smooth, fluid actions in the outfield and active footwork that allows him to take proper routes and angles while tracking down balls. Working to improve foot quickness will further boost his defensive range. At the plate, Cole stands out with an athletic setup, quick hands, and an aggressive swing path, staying inside the ball for a line-drive approach that utilizes all fields. As he refines his lower-half engagement, his power should continue to grow. On the mound, he’s just starting to show his potential with a fastball sitting 59-62 mph and an 11/5 breaking ball exhibiting gradual break. Building arm strength through a long toss program and adding off-speed pitches will raise his stock on the mound. His mental makeup is a big plus—he’s highly coachable and diligently works to become the best player he can be.

07/22/2024 - National Showcase - Glen Allen (Richmond), VA Cole is an athletic OF who will graduate in 2029. In the OF, he utilizes his aggressive feet as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach, flashing gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. With 5 years to further develop, Cole has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
