07/17/2017 - College PREP - Minneapolis, MN Cole is a lanky, athletic SS who will graduate in 2018. At the plate is where he shows best through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing and shows good barrel accuracy. At SS, he displays quick / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Glove action is soft / sure but will benefit by presenting more out front. Athletic abilities are present through his feeds of the double play. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. Cole has abilities with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
