07/28/2023 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC (HS) Cole continues to shine in his baseball abilities on the diamond. At SS, defensive abilities are solid as he shows smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active and displays proper footwork in squaring balls up. Hands are clean and presents well out front. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with carry (88 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a great teammate and is very coachable on the field.

03/26/2023 - National Showcase - Highland Park (DFW), TX Cole is a talented SS/OF in the 2024 class. On the grass, he has great feet and a quick 1st step (6.94 runner). Has athletic ability to create angles and works to stay inside the ball. Shows closing speed and hands are soft. His exchanges are high and clean. He gets the ball back to the dirt quickly with accuracy and life (88 velo). On the dirt, his feet are active and he covers his defensive area well. Shows solid glove presentation and his exchanges are clean. Throws with intent and follows his feeds well. At the plate, he begins in an athletic stance and gets into his back side well. His hands are quick (84 exit velo) and his path is short. Proves to be a line drive hitter at this stage with potential for more. Overall, Cole is a must watch in the 2024 class.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
