07/22/2024 - National Showcase - Glen Allen (Richmond), VA Colin is an athletic 2B/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. At 2B, he displays smooth/fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and works to square ground balls up but needs to play through with his body. Glove action is firm and presents out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a tall setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 47-50 mph with sink. Breaking ball displays slight 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but throws too hard, resembling fastball. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 5 years to further develop, Colin has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
