07/18/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Colin is a strong, athletic 1B/LHP who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a plus feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls but will benefit by playing through with his body. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 71-74 mph. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. With 4 years to further develop, Colin has the makings of a special type player with time and room to progress his game.
