10/29/2023 - National Showcase - San Marcos (San Diego), CA Colin is a C/3B in the 2025 class. Behind the plate, he shows quick feet and fluid movements. He stays centered to the baseball and creates low flexion with his athletic stance. Pocket has great feel and he can turn the baseball around with quickness. Arm action is short and his feeds are around the bag at 2.18. Shows excellent blocking skills with a controlled feel and can adjust based upon the dirtball location. On the dirt, he is a plus defender. His feet are fluid and creates agile movements in his attack angles. Fielding position is athletic and secures the baseball with soft hands. Redirects with quick actions and is accurate at 82 velo. At the plate, he generates hard contact and consistently on the barrel. Has a comfortable feel and stays under control from set-up through extension. Swing is repeatable and can transition to the next level. Overall, he impressed scouts with his actions and when he adds strength and footspeed to his game, he will become a can miss prospect

07/28/2023 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC (HS) Colin continues to shine on the diamond with his baseball abilities. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times showed in 2.25 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through a tall, squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.

12/27/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Marcos (San Diego), CA Colin is a C/3B who will graduate in 2025. Medium frame lean build with some strength present. Behind the dish, he works to center the baseball and presents a low target with some pocket awareness. Tries to work around the baseball and gains ground towards second base with good direction. Throws from an over-the-top release point, with a short arm stroke in back, and has an arm velocity up to 81mph and a best pop time of 2.14 seconds. At 3B, he works from the ground up and has active feet. Fields from an athletic/low fielding position with soft hands out front. Made accurate and on-line throws to first with good momentum towards his target. At the plate, he hits from an upright and closed stance. He hits into a firm frontside, with activated hands, and showed good bat to balls skills. A direct barrel path enables him to hit hard line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 79mph. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Colin making huge strides on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
