01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (TX) Colin is a strong OF prospect who showcased his skills during the Pre-Season All-America Tournament. In the OF, Colin fields the ball out in front with soft hands and has a clean exchange, making on-line throws through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance with center balance. He shows fluid rhythm and drives through well with his lower half. He stays direct through the ball with fast bat speed, leading to consistent contact to all fields. Overall, Colin is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

09/04/2020 - HS All-Region Tournament Colin continues to shine on the diamond. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking balls down. Throws are accurate with carry (81 mph velocity) but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and makes consistent hard contact with power showing best to the pull side.

05/31/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Frisco (DFW), TX Colin is an OF prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. In the OF, Colin makes the routine plays and creates good carry through his target on his throws. Getting into a more athletic fielding position can help Colin improve defensively. 02/16/2020 - College PREP - Highland Park (DFW), TX Colin continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. In the OF, he utilizes his feet well in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through more with momentum to his target. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. In the OF, Colin works hard to create good angles by being aggressive to the ball. He works to get behind the ball and fields the ball with confidence making the exchange to get rid of the ball. He delivers the ball from a H3/4 slot with backspin to the infield. Working on becoming more agile and get strong will help Colin become a better OF. At the plate, Colin sets up square getting a small load. Getting his stride to stay even will allow him to stay on the ball longer as he works to get the barrel on plane. He shows the ability to hit the ball best to the pull side by being aggressive on pitches in his zone. Colin is a young prospect that plays the game the right way and will continue to grow and develop over the next several years.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
