06/17/2017 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Colin only showed on the mound on the event. On the bump, he shows a repeatable delivery that allows his arm to work free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 67-68 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but throws too hard to fastball velocities. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

02/25/2017 - College PREP - Sioux Falls, SD Collin is a lean, athletic RHP/1B prospect who is currently more advanced as a first baseman. He takes huge hacks at the dish and shows tantalizing raw power, driving the ball to all fields with the ability to hit it out at any time. He uses his strong lower half to generate massive power and explosive bat speed through the zone. His hips clear early and he launches on a level path to the ball, extending through contact to generate backspin and carry to the deepest parts of the field. On the bump, he displays a deceptive delivery that hides the ball from the hitter and makes it hard to pick up the ball. He works square to the target with a strong lower half to drive to the plate and finishes in line to keep everything around the zone. At first, his active feet and quick first step give him good range and make him agile to receive throws at the bag. He takes good angles on slow rollers to make tough plays and gets rid of the ball very quickly to throw. More reps in the field will make him more fluid to make all of the plays cleanly. Collin is an intriguing prospect who we look forward to watch during his senior season.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
