10/29/2023 - National Showcase - Sauget (St. Louis), IL Collin is an OF/SS who will graduate in 2027. Medium frame lean build with strength present and room to add throughout. In the OF, good first step reads enable him to cover ground in all directions and make routine plays. Showed good lateral range as he works behind/through the baseball with a high 1-hand catch. Made on-line throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 75mph. At SS he shows good rhythm and has good body control at the baseball. Works from the ground up and fields from a low fielding position with hands out front. Has a short arm stroke with ability to throw from multiple arm slots. At the plate, he hits from an upright and open stance. Shows ability to keep his hands inside the baseball and is centered at contact. Has a flat barrel path through the hitting zone with a high finish. Made square contact as hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 68mph. With 4 years of continued growth and development, we foresee the 2-way player having a bright future on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
