03/19/2017 - College PREP - Greenville, SC Collin continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean / athletic actions. Feet are active but needs to attack balls and play through balls with his body. Hands are clean and he presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a balanced / squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent hard contact with power showing best to the pull side. Delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. He shows good tempo through a strong balance point. Fastball showed a range of 68-70 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for pitch with arm side run. Off speed stuff show potential as being quality pitches at the next level. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

08/04/2016 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training & Tournament at Historic Dodgertown Collin is a RHP/3B who will graduate in 2019. At 3B, feet are active as he works to square balls up, displaying clean hands. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds of the double play. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he attacks balls more and plays through while presenting hands more out front. Increasing foot quickness will aid in improving range. At the plate he shows best through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing the whole field through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he works to utilize his lower half more aggressively. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 68-74 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with tailing action. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. With 3 years to further develop, Collin has abilities with time and room to continue to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
